There's no genuinely objective answer to the best-tasting protein powder. One person's perfect Sticky Toffee Pudding is another person's tub gathering dust at the back of the cupboard.
What we can tell you is what our customers have bought most over the past year. It doesn't prove which tastes best, but it's a useful starting point if you're staring at dozens of flavours and don't know where to begin.
The protein powders our customers bought most
Per4m Advanced Whey has been the standout in our range, with Naughty Boy Advanced Whey another popular choice. We've also seen plenty of interest in clear whey and beef-protein alternatives, which makes sense: not everyone wants the same thick, milky shake every day.
We deliberately wouldn't turn those sales into a claim that one powder objectively tastes better than another. Flavour is too personal for that. What the sales do give you is a shortlist of products other customers have been happy to choose.
If you're choosing Per4m, where should you start?
Sticky Toffee Pudding has been one of the flavours customers have gravitated towards most, alongside White Chocolate Hazelnut and some of Per4m's chocolate-led flavours. If those sound a bit rich for you, the range also covers fruitier, simpler and bakery-style options.
We've gone into the Per4m flavour choices in more detail in our Per4m flavour guide.
Pick by the kind of shake you actually enjoy
If you normally order dessert flavours, start with something like Sticky Toffee Pudding, Caramel Biscuit or a chocolate option. If you get bored of sweet milkshake-style proteins, a clear whey or beef isolate can be a completely different experience.
And if you're not sure, don't buy the biggest tub just because the price per serving looks better. Our protein samples are there for exactly that reason: try a flavour first, then buy the full size if you actually like it.
So, what's our starting recommendation?
For someone buying blind, we'd start with one of the flavours that has consistently been popular with our customers, then adjust from there based on whether you prefer chocolate, bakery, fruit or something more neutral.
The important bit is that popularity is only a guide. Taste is personal, and a £1–£2-ish sample is a much better judge than any league table we could make.

Popularity references are based on Muscle Supply's own sales history. They tell us what customers bought, not which flavour any individual person will prefer.
